Where Fortnite resigns you to movement, a crouch and basic aiming, developers Respawn give you everything from extended knee slides to teleport escapes, meaty melee attacks and vertical wall-runs.
Not to mention, they borrow just enough from Overwatch to give the roster a slew of superpowered abilities, winning the match at the last second because you planned ahead, unleashing an orbital strike when it was least expected.
Being free, super simple to pick up and play and with a map that's easy to get your head around, Apex Legends deserves every bit of success thrown its way.
