Every Mass Effect 2 Loyalty Mission - Ranked
4. Kasumi - Stealing Memory
It might be a little hypocritical to have Kasumi so high when DLC counted against Zaeed, but Stealing Memory deserves it. Without the DLC baggage, it might have been even higher.
This mission takes Shep out of their comfort zone and out of their battle armour, forcing them to rub shoulders at a fancy shindig. Here, you must skulk around a mansion, creating distractions so you can snoop in peace. Little by little you find clues, eventually breaking into the host’s vault. There, you find the greybox of Kasumi’s former lover, Keiji.
It makes perfect sense that someone as secretive as Kasumi would only give her loyalty to Shepard if they can handle this extremely personal task. The mission was also clearly proof of concept for the amazing casino heist portion of the Citadel DLC in Mass Effect 3. Considering many fans rank the Citadel DLC as one of the best packages in any game, Kasumi scores some points for setting it in motion.
The mission blends story and gunplay well too, with the heist theme being dropped once you’re inside the vault. From there on out, it’s good old fashioned Mass Effect as you take on swathes of deadly mechs.
