7. Days Gone

Days Gone is one of the biggest question marks on PS4's remaining slate of AAA exclusives, and despite it being mere days away from release at the time of press, it's tough to know what to make of it.

On one hand, the open-world zombie genre is long-tired and throwing a biker gimmick into the mix doesn't seem particularly inspired, not to mention developer SIE Bend Studio having no recent experience in blockbuster games dev.

Conversely, recent press previews have been relatively positive about the game for the most part, citing the unexpected depth, diversity and tension of the core gameplay loop, which is said to minimise grinding and busy-work.

But with the review embargo not dropping until the day before release, it's definitely smart to be at least a little sceptical. And so, despite how glossy the game looks, only the most ardent zombie enthusiasts will be first-class passengers on the hype-train.
