5. Ghost Of Tsushima

The latest title from Infamous devs Sucker Punch Productions is an open-world action-adventure game following the final surviving samurai on Tsushima Island, who must fight for his life during the first Mongol invasion of Japan in the late 13th century.

In addition to focusing on stealth, combat and exploration, the game will reportedly include no waypoints for players and allow them to explore it at their leisure with engagements emerging organically.

The little that's been shown off so far looks absolutely terrific, though this is mitigated slightly by Sucker Punch's consistent ability to deliver good games that fall just shy of being great (case in point, Infamous: Second Son).

The ambition is clear, and if it can build on Second Son's flaws - namely overly repetitive gameplay and a neutered morality system - then Ghost of Tsushima could certainly end up the studio's strongest effort to date.
