Everything We Know About 2018's Most Mysterious Video Games
3. God Of War
Despite the brutal treatment he suffered at the hands of his father and the rest of Greek's deific pantheon, Kratos has found it within himself to love and care for another human being in the time since. Make no mistake, he's still an angry man but Kratos doesn't appear to be in any danger of slaughtering his second family anytime soon.
That would, after all, defeat the point of Sony's sequel: Kratos' son and his interaction with the bearded god-killer form a core component of this Nordic adventure, but just how much is the pseudo-reboot going to diverge from what's come before?
From day one, gameplay demos have suggested that the fourth main installment will diverge from the combo-heavy, hectic combat of past entries in favour of a more subdued approach, but what role is Kratos Jr. supposed to play in in all this? God forbid we be provided a full-length escort quest - that truly would drive Kratos to commit filicide.
Game director Cory Barlog stamped out those suspicions just as quickly as they arose, telling Hollywood Reporter that this adventure is "most definitely not an escort mission," so that's one bullet expertly dodged.
All we need now is some assertive footage showing Kratos in action, and we're all in for another system-selling PS4 exclusive.
