Fallout: 10 Reasons New Vegas Is The Best One
4. Factions
The way New Vegas handles factions is brilliant. They aren't blank slates that you simply join and become the leader off. They aren't just a sea of empty faces, with only one head honcho who had all of the personality budget spent on them. They are surprisingly intricate and very well made. And how they factor into game-play is stellar.
You have to balance your relations with these factions. Progressing with one will make enemies of the other, and you have to carefully choose quests so as to not completely alienate other factions. Bringing factions together is important and choosing your allies is even more so.
It's not as simple as rocking up, doing a few quests and suddenly becoming the Messiah. You are just another character in the world. Factions treat you as a character in the world. A rare but welcome quality in the RPGs.
