Fallout 4: 10 Great Open World Games It Must Learn From

6. Destiny

While it's entirely possible a few readers will choose to stop reading at the very mention of Destiny, there's a darn good reason for it to be included on this list. Whether it is a good game or not, Destiny represents a trend that is likely to shape much of the next two or three years of current generation gaming. One thing that even the biggest detractors of this game cannot deny is that Destiny does a great job of fusing single and multiplayer experiences into one game. With more and more upcoming titles looking to employ such a blend, it is important that Fallout doesn't fall behind the times and manages to meet the weight of expectation here as well. All-out multiplayer modes aren't likely to suit here, but with Bethesda already testing the online waters with The Elder Scrolls Online it's clear that the issue is on their minds. Maintaining the compelling single player campaigns while adding a community of resource trading and secret sharing that operates like Destiny's player hub would strike the right balance to keep this ringing true to the series' trademark experience whilst not getting left in yesterday's trends.
