Fallout 4: 12 Most Intriguing Rumours So Far

3. Companions And Non-Player Characters

Throughout the series, the player character has been joined by a variety of companions and this was something that was greatly improved upon in Fallout: New Vegas. In Fallout 3, they were limited in number and customisation, while there was massive quantity of them in New Vegas and generally they just worked better. Now of course some gamers hate them with a passion as they do tend to get stuck in doorways or wander into the line of fire, but hopefully Bethesda have taken those comments on-board and sought to fix them The casting call includes a new DJ character and someone called Sturges who is described as €œa cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel€. Other than a mercenary leader called Preston Garvey who is also mentioned, that is all that there is currently rumoured about possible companions or NPCs. But there are a few staples that you can expect to appear in Fallout 4: One of these is a dog, which originated in the first Fallout game and was modelled after the dog in Mad Max 2, and took the name Dogmeat from the 1975 post-apocalyptic film A Boy and His Dog. This returned in Fallout 3, with the companion named Dogmeat once again. While other dogs have been seen, the only other significant one was Rex in New Vegas, who has survived since before the war. Given the role that dogs have played in the series so far, it would be very odd for one to be excluded from Fallout 4. Likelihood of those named characters appearing: 8/10Likelihood of a dog companion: 10/10
