Fallout 4: 5 Brand New Details You Need To Know About

4. Free Updates Will Include Extra Content

In the past, the main purpose for Bethesda patches was to make existing game content playable. It's hard to forget that this is the company that brought us barely playable console versions of Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim. Assuming Fallout 4 isn't an unplayable mess upon release, Bethesda is going down the Witcher 3 route of including free updates that will not only include bug fixes, but also plenty of new content for Fallout 4. In fairness to Bethesda, they already began introducing free bonus content with patches for Skyrim, which included graphical enhancements, mounted combat, and a whole new difficulty mode. There was some genuinely good stuff in there, all of which came as a response to fan requests after the game was released. It's too early to comment on what we can expect from the free Fallout 4 content, because it will most likely be addressing the concerns and desires that fans have after playing the game for some time. In recent years, Bethesda has greatly improved its interactions with its games' fan communities, so I'm optimistic that much of the free content will be a case of giving the gamers what they want.
