For the past few years it has been clear that Bethesda are attempting to be at the forefront of the VR space. Showcasing tech demos of some of their biggest games running in VR - as well as debuting a fully-playable Fallout 4 for virtual reality systems - at E3 2016, this year the publisher has continued their commitment to the hardware by unveiling even more expansive experiences.

Joining Fallout in development is Doom and Skyrim, which will both be getting the VR treatment later this year. While there's been a few virtual reality games so far that could be considered 'real' AAA experiences, none have yet allowed you to enter a huge open world with the amount of content that Fallout 4 or Skyrim has, and these experiments could be a way for Bethesda to test the water in regards to introducing the feature into their upcoming RPGs.

It's obvious that Bethesda is invested in VR, and by retrofitting these older releases they could be gearing up for Fallout 5 to be virtual reality compatible right out of the gate.
