Fallout 5: 9 Huge Leaks & Rumours You Need To Know

5. There'll Be A Completely Revamped Dialogue System

One of the most divisive aspects of Fallout 4 was the introduction of a brand new dialogue system. Stripping away the multiple text-based responses of the previous game and focusing instead on fully-voiced protagonists was considered to be a disappointment for many fans, as the resources needed to facilitate voice actors meant that the dialogue system was way more basic than in other Bethesda releases.

And it seems as though the title's director Todd Howard agreed. In reflective interviews given on the game, Howard has conceded that the team wasn't able to properly execute their new vision for character interactions and conversations in Fallout 4, and going forward has made it clear that they're looking to revamp this aspect of the game.

A return to the old text-based approach is probably doubtful given how archaic the silent protagonist trope seems today, but players should expect a move away from the simple 'yes' and 'no' answers that they were lumped with in the fourth game.
