Fallout 5 Wishlist: 8 Rumours We Want To Come True
2. Previous Game Locations Could Be Used As DLC
Bethesda like to keep their sequels entirely separate from what came before, opting to change environments, characters and even the time period in which each title is set.
But while this might provide them with freedom going into every new game, it could be a mistake to have no reverence for past releases whatsoever.
Other developers like Rockstar understand how effective revisiting popular locations can be, and if rumours are to be believed, have even included the entirety of the original Red Dead Redemption map as part of the game world in its upcoming sequel.
While Bethesda probably won't do anything as drastic as that, it has still shown a willingness to return to locations that are popular with fans, and could revisit previous settings in Fallout 5's DLC.
It's an idea that's been circulating for a while, and for a time players expected something similar with Skyrim's post-release content, as rumours suggested that expansions would return to beloved settings from Oblivion. We did see a Morrowind expansion to The Elder Scrolls Online, after all.
But while that didn't happen, there's no reason that Fallout 5 couldn't see players returning to haunt the streets of a radically different Capital Wasteland or the planes of the Mojave.
