Far Cry 5: 10 Best Franchise Moments So Far

1. Far Cry 3 - The Definition Of Insanity

Far Cry
Ubisoft

This whole scene perfectly encapsulates why many people love Far Cry, and why Far Cry 3 is generally considered to be the best game in the whole series.

Vaas is the true reason why this scene stands out from any other. As a villain, Vaas is perfect because he's oddly likeable yet totally menacing.

Every other Far Cry game since then has gone on to try and replicate the same effect, which should make it clear just how great this whole sequence is.

One of the key elements of 'the definition of insanity' is that it directly breaks down the gameplay of the Far Cry series, with Vaas using Jason as a conduit to the player and commenting on how they've been doing the same thing over and over again this whole time. It's a great commentary of Far Cry, and many action games in general.

Besides that, Vaas delivers on every single word and truly makes you feel powerless, despite all of the damage you've done so far. When Jason eventually escapes, it just fuels the rivalry between Jason and Vaas even more.
