Far Cry: Primal - 8 Essential Features It Must Have
2. Don't Make The Player A Resistance Fighter Again
Primal should also depart from another motif in recent Far Cry games that's ready for a revamp - the oppressor-vs-oppressed conflict in which the player is the means by which it tips one way or the other. Far Cry Primal has the opportunity - or even the obligation - to move away from a plot that simply sees you liberating an oppressed people. It's been done enough now, and would affirm the early fears that Primal might just be a reskin of previous games, with the same storyline and same gameplay mechanics - just with spears and bows instead of guns and, well, bows. Primal should be a world of scattered tribes, without a definitive 'oppressor' running the show. Sure, throw the obligatory 'bad guys' tribe in there, who are seeking to take more than their fair share of the cornucopia's spoils, but overall it'd be great to see the plot take advantage of the new setting and offer the player something a little different to what came before.
