4. Danny Welbeck, Manchester United (79)
Long before a certain Robin van Persie arrived on the scene, Danny Welbeck was one of Manchester United's more consistent forwards, preferred over Javier Hernandez in being paired more often than not up front with Wayne Rooney. He scored twelve times last season in an impressive 40 appearances. At just 21 years old, this is quite remarkable, and a successful season at the club was rewarded when Roy Hodgson selected him for the Euro 2012 England squad. Welbeck scored a crucial goal in that tournament, by grabbing a 79th minute winning goal against Sweden.
