9. Ryan Bertrand, Chelsea (71)

When you make your debut for a professional football team at the age of 23, it's normally against low opposition in the Capital One Cup in a fixture that even your clubs most die hard of fans don't care too much about. Not for Ryan Bertrand. The left back made his debut for Chelsea in the final of the Champions League against Bayern Munich. Talk about a baptism of fire. His club went on to win the Champions League as well as the FA Cup that year, and whilst, admittedly, Bertrand had a somewhat scant contribution in those triumphs, he featured in all four of Team GB's fixtures during their run in the Men's Football Tournament at this summers Olympics, which led to him making his full international debut for England against Italy in a friendly. Having already made a positive debut for Chelsea, he impressed again in this one as he cleared a shot off the line from Manolo Gabbiadini, which eventually led to England's winning goal as England won the game 21.
