FIFA 14: 5 Premier League Stars Who Could Replace Gareth Bale As Cover Star

3. Wayne Rooney

wayne rooney fifa The Manchester United striker is a seven-time cover star of the FIFA series having first featured on the box-art of the 2006 edition alongside Barcelona's Ronaldinho. Since then he's appeared on the front cover of every FIFA game released up until last year's title, which broke the England international's monopoly on the series by featuring Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart. Rooney has hogged all the headlines this summer with speculation that he could be about to leave United to join Chelsea, and we could be seeing a lot more of him if he replaces Bale as the cover star of a FIFA game for a record eighth time. Or maybe that's just a little bit too much? Haven't we seen enough of Rooney as it is? Only Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi have been featured as successive FIFA cover stars, and maybe it's time to give someone else time in the limelight.
