5. Franchise Has Generated $6 Billion Since 1993
With many of Europe's leading clubs, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea able to boast enormous wealth, it is perhaps befitting that EA can also claim such profligacy. Since the FIFA series began way back in 1993, it has generated a whopping $6 billion, making it the biggest-selling franchise in EA's history. This is partly due to the fact Electronic Arts market their FIFA games at a variety of countries. For example, FIFA 13 was the No. 1 selling game in 43 countries around the world the week it launched. FIFA products are also localised into 16 different languages and sold in 51 countries, going some way to explain the enormous wealth the series has accrued over the past two decades.
