4. First Ever Game Was To Be Named "EA Soccer"
Before the FIFA series as we know it today became such, the games were initially going to be called "EA Soccer". However, it was subsequently re-branded as "FIFA International Soccer" so that EA could sell the games more successfully in Europe and also after assuming the American's would have no interest. Which is a good thing, really, or else we'd all be buying the clumsily-named "EA Soccer 14" right now. The first ever game in the series only included international teams and no clubs were featured, which is remarkable when you consider how club-centric the FIFA series is today. As an interesting aside, International Soccer broke with the traditional 16-bit era games by presenting an isometric view, while most games at the time were still using the traditional top-down view. And EA have continued pushing the boundaries ever since.
