FIFA 15: 10 Great Players Who've Already Been Downgraded

4. Juan Mata - FIFA 14: 87, FIFA 15: 85

It's probably no surprise that the whiz kids at EA Sports decided to chop a couple of digits off Juan Mata's ample rating, with the Spaniard having endured possibly the most frustrating 12 months of his career. If one were to cast their mind back to the summer of 2013, a Premier League swap would have been deemed unfathomable for the former Valencia winger, having been rewarded for a series of stellar displays with a Player of the Season gong. Six months later and the diminutive Spaniard was sent packing however, with his illustrious and sultry talents failing to capture the imagination of the unimpressed Jose Mourinho, and was signing on the dotted line at Old Trafford for a princely fee of £37.1 million. While seven goals in 18 appearances isn't a horrific figure for the sharp-shooting playmaker, ultimately he has failed to reignite the flame that burned so brightly during his spell in west London. While Mata hasn't worsened overnight, one can understand the men in their EA Sports lab coats declaring that his substandard year was deserving of a slight demotion. Having said that, a rating of 85 is certainly nothing to be sniffed at, and will certainly make for one hell of a super-sub should goal-hungry Manchester United supporters throw Angel di Maria into the mix ahead of him.
