FIFA 15: 10 Great Players Who've Already Been Downgraded
3. Iker Casillas - FIFA 14: 86, FIFA 15: 84
The last year in the great career of Spanish legend Iker Casillas has been eventful as it has confusing. The Real Madrid goalkeeper probably doesn't even know himself if he can count the last 12 months as successful, such has been the topsy-turvy nature of the annum. FIFA 14 had been unique in that it rated the club's second-in-command higher than the goalkeeper who donned the gloves on a regular basis. With Casillas' booming rating of 86 towering over Diego Lopez' modest value of 83, one could take a guess that the video game was probably banned in the latter goalkeeper's house. This time around, the former Sevilla goalie has since vacated the premises of the Bernabeu, but Casillas has been demoted, despite helping the club to a coveted 'La Decima'. Watching the entirety of a league season from the bench, as Madrid surrendered the title to their cross-city rivals, he played every second of their successful Champions League triumph, before wilting on the biggest stage of all. Torn apart by Arjen Robben and co. in a humiliating 5-1 reverse to the Dutch in the first game, Casillas conceded two more against the Chileans before surrendering his first-choice spot for the final and meaningless group game against Australia. Looking shaky and uncomfortable when under the slightest bit of pressure, the Madrid icon was seemingly nothing more than a fleeting shadow. With the arrival of Costa Rican star Keylor Navas in the summer to challenge the 33 year old, it will be interesting to see Casillas' rating in another 12 months.
