FIFA 15: 10 Leaked Chelsea Player Ratings

9. Thibaut Courtois - 85 (FIFA 14 - 84)

Mourinho has a difficult choice to make whether to persist with club veteran Petr Cech in goal or phase him out in favour of Belgian wonderkid Thibaut Courtois, who returns to his parent club following three exceptional seasons on loan at La Liga victors, Atletico Madrid. Rather than passing judgment of their own, EA reflect Courtois' growth by elevating him by a single point to a rating of 85, the same score as his rival for the Chelsea gloves, Petr Cech. I suspect most people will opt for Courtois as their first choice, since the 22 year old is likely to have an extremely high ceiling for growth whereas Cech, at a full ten years older, is likely to enter a gradual decline within a few years. 85 is a fair reflection of how quickly Courtois' profile has risen, particularly after making a series of jaw-dropping saves during Atletico's remarkable 2013/14 campaign which ended with a La Liga trophy and a Champions League runners-up medal. When FIFA 15 finally arrives, will players persist with Cech, giving him the chance to get the record for the all-time highest number of Premier League clean sheets, or sell him for a big boost to your bank balance and use Mark Schwarzer as your second choice? Will you throw Courtois into the first team fold straightaway, or test him out in minor games before making your decision? Either way, players managing Chelsea are going to be spoilt for choice in the goalkeeping department.
