FIFA 15: 10 Players Who Need Downgrading After World Cup
4. Marouane Fellaini 81
Of the many Premier League players who made up Belgiums promising World Cup squad, performing well in Brazil was most important to the 64 central midfielder. The likes of Kompany, Vertonghen and Hazard are all firmly embedded into the current DNA of their clubs while Fellainis position at Manchester United looks not only expendable but in jeopardy. After his performance in the World Cup Fellaini must be fearful that Louis van Gaal will have already started the search for a No.10 to play behind Robin van Persie. The towering frame of the Belgium means that creative passing and nimble footwork has never come easy to him but in the World Cup Fellaini often looked unable to use his strength to beat his markers at throw-ins and set-pieces. His performance for Belgium who were underwhelming as a side throughout the tournament makes the fact that he cost £27 million just a year ago seem all the more ridiculous. Not only is Fellaini a highly rated player on FIFA 14 but he can be used to devastating effect. His strength (91) and heading accuracy (90) mean he is a beast in the air while he still has a decent passing rating of 83. Fellaini is a favourite of Barclays PL teams on FIFA Ultimate Team though this should change on FIFA 15 where he should be downgraded. Suggested Rating: 77
