Usually branded as Bayern Munichs second winger after Franck Ribéry, EA need to amend the Dutchmans score to reflect that he is every bit the equal of the teammate whos shadow he has long languished in. In the Pep Guardiola era Robben who had on several occasions been benched playing under Jupp Heynckes has been more of an essential component in the team. The 11-league-goals he scored this year compared to the 5 last year assisted Bayern in their dominant win of the Bundesliga. Much like Ribéry, Robben utilises his ridiculous pace on the ball to give him the edge when running at an oppositions fullbacks. Unlike Ribéry however, Robben favours cutting in on his left foot and drilling a powerful, low shot into the far corner rather than looking for an incisive pass. This more selfish approach has at times worked to Robbens advantage as he is seen to be taken responsibility for the team in tight spots.
