FIFA 15: Top 20 Rated Players CONFIRMED

18. Luka Modric - 87

FIFA 14 Rank: 43rd

It's a testament to Modric's turnaround at the Bernabeu that he has managed to jump 25 places from last year. With his first season having been an unbridled failure, labelled as a 'flop' following his £33 million move from Spurs, the Croatian playmaker underwent a renaissance of sorts with the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti last summer. Deployed in a deep-lying role, Modric thrived in his new position, and Madrid reaped the rewards, as the likes of Ronaldo and Bale profited from his incisive forward-thinking and penetrative passes. Having played a starring role in 'La Decima', it looks like the Croat has a new partner in Toni Kroos this season, making for one mouth-watering duo.

17. David Silva - 87

FIFA 14 Rank: 12th

Dropping five places from last year's edition, David Silva is still heralded as a class act. However, injuries ruled that last campaign meant he would feature just 40 times in all competitions - his lowest total since signing for the Citizens in 2010. While it was still a top season for the creative 'trequartista', playing an influential role in Man City's triumphant late surge, it still wasn't enough to keep him inside EA Sports' top 15. It would appear that he may be another victim of the whiplash from the miserable Spanish outing at the World Cup which has had such a detrimental effect on the ratings for the Iberian players.
