When Yaya Toure was kicked out of Spain by Pep Guardiola in 2010, many were bemused at the Catalonian's seeming recklessness in discarding one of the club's most reliable performers.

However, the fans need have feared not as they possessed in their ranks one of the most naturally intelligent footballers to have played the game in the last 20 years.

Sergio Busquets has been the metronome of the Barcelona midfield for the last eight seasons, and he possesses both the vision of the Xavi and the imagination of team-mate Andres Iniesta.

The 28-year-old outdid himself last season, his 53 appearances the most he has ever churned out for the Catalans in a single campaign.

It's fitting that, just like so many of his performances, his FIFA rating remains consistent.
