FIFA 17 Demo: 10 Hands-On Impressions You Need To Know

1. Irony Of Demo's Journey Situation Is Unintentionally Hilarious

In the brief portion of The Journey included in the demo, players get to witness Alex Hunter's Premier League debut for Manchester United. In grandiose style, EA show a thus-far nameless Assistant Manager giving the team a pep talk before they play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. That's when you find out that Hunter is on the bench, whereas his best mate is in the starting lineup.

Both players are clearly quite young, which causes some unintentional hilarity for the situation. The more arrogant best friend finds the net to put Man Utd 1-0, before Diego Costa then equalises for Chelsea. That's when Jose Mourinho gives the nod, and the aforementioned Assistant Manager tells you to warm up before going on.

There are around 20 minutes of game time left at this point, although the entire scenario seems a bit fanciful. It recently came to light that Marcus Rashford is the first teenager Mourinho has taken a punt on, whereas in FIFA 17 he's willing to start with a young kid up front on his own and then fling on another when the game is deadlocked at 1-1.

It all seems a bit far-fetched, even if it is dramatic and tells a good story.
