FIFA 18: 10 Improvements We Want To See In Career Mode

2. Revamped Player Career

The Player Career Mode hasn't moved on much since the 'Be A Pro' feature was introduced almost a decade ago. The excitement of taking a young rookie to the top of the game is missing, and the mode digresses into another game-to-game borefest that grows tiresome just one season in.

'The Journey' from FIFA 17 represents hope for Player Career. EA should focus on shifting some of the role-playing elements found there across to the Career Mode in general too, because it'd be awesome to see post-match interviews and manager meetings if your created striker is failing to hit the back of the net on a regular basis.

Alex Hunter's story is ripe for further customisation. Every football fan dreams of pulling on their favourite jersey, and that should be part of the career experience. The only trials and tribulations FIFA 17's Player Career Mode featured were choosing whether or not to sit through another drab match that felt the same as the last.
