FIFA 18: 10 Improvements We Want To See In Career Mode
6. The 'Away' Problem In Simmed Matches Gets Sorted
If EA are going to include the option to simulate matches at all in FIFA 18, then a little bit of interaction would go a long way. Simply sitting back and watching the minutes tick by with no chance to impact the match by substituting players or making tactical changes feels like a throwback to management sims on the Atari ST instead of PS4/Xbox One goodness.
Worse, there appears to be a bug written into the code in recent years that makes it nigh-on impossible to win away matches. Draws are common, as are 2-1 losses, and don't get us started on all your top players getting injured.
This doesn't make sense if your team has been on a red-hot winning streak, and it's more than a little annoying to see your mighty Man Utd side struggle to squeeze past mid-table sides like Stoke and West Ham just because it's on away soil.
Swimming matches is essential for players looking to last the 15-season distance in FIFA, so a little more interaction would be great to see.
