FIFA 19: 10 Players Who Deserve A Rating Downgrade

1. Mesut Özil

Last Year's Rating: 88

Alas, we come to one of the most frustrating players in the entire Premier League.

Despite being armed with bags of talent, Arsenal's Mesut Özil p*sses it all away by turning in enigmatic performances that make it seem like he's hiding when he should be one of Unai Emery's main men. This inconsistent style has plagued the German since joining the Gunners five years ago.

His 88 rating in FIFA is almost embarrassing to report. Özil is talented, though flawed, borderline anonymous when it counts in bigger games for Arsenal, and he's hardly on par with match winners such as Juve's Paulo Dybala or Atlético Madrid's brilliant Frenchman Antoine Griezmann.

By comparison to those players, Özil is overrated in FIFA. Early reports say his overall rating has slid in the new game. If that turns out to be the case on-disc when the game is released, and in Ultimate Team when EA tweak with weekly updates, then it'll be fully deserved.
