FIFA 19: 10 Players Who Deserve A Rating Downgrade

6. Leighton Baines

Last Year's Rating: 82

In fairness to Cahill, he merits an 84 way more than Everton stalwart Leighton Baines deserves his 82. This is a prime example of EA's annoying need to make Premier League players look like the best around. That's fine for a handful of deserving stars, but not Leighton bloody Baines.

No offence intended to the man here, mind, just an observation.

Baines is not an 82-rated player in 2018. The 33-year old defender should be closer to a 76 or 77 at this stage in his career. Instead, he was knocking on the doors of the Top 100 in FIFA 18, and that's not very realistic. Baines, though solid, isn't one of the world's best wing backs.

One suggestion would be dropping some of his pace stats but keeping in the physicals. That way, Baines would become less of a box-to-box superstar (like he was last year) and more of an ageing pro who represents a decent buy for mid-table sides.
