8. Domagoj Vida
Besiktas' wily centre-back is better known for his look and his antics than his performances, though Vida proved at the World Cup that he is as formidable as he is charismatic. The World Cup finalist isn't 30 years old yet, and last year he wasn't even rated 80.
Vida was part of the over-achieving Croatia team that got to the World Cup final, where they were beaten by France. One could argue that Vida was made to look better than he is by his compatriot, Dejan Lovren, but that would be a disservice to the blonde. He played with a ton of heart and looked like a player that belonged on the world stage. No offence to Besiktas, but Vida is still young and has certainly earned a spot at a bigger club, as well as a significantly higher FIFA rating.
