FIFA 19: 8 Surprises From The Top 100 Players
8. Buffon Has Fallen Out Of Favour
Spare a thought for the legendary Gianluigi Buffon.
Not only are the press reporting that the iconic Italian stopper will be dropped by PSG, now EA are browbeating the ex-Juventus hero in their FIFA 19 Top 100. This year, Gigi has fallen from the heady heights of #13 to mingling with the chasing pack as #35.
His overall stats have taken a hit too. Diving, Reflexes and Handling are all down on point from FIFA 18, and even Buffon's charming smile seems to exist solely to mock the fact that hey, one of football's greatest ever goalkeepers is on the slide. Poor, dapper Gigi.
According to EA, Buffon is now the seventh best keeper in world footy. He's behind Hugo Lloris, Marc-André Ter Stegen, Jan Oblak, Thibaut Courtois, Manuel Neuer and David De Gea on the list, and his overall rating is three points behind the Man Utd goalie.
