FIFA 19 Career Mode: 10 Wonderkids You'll Need To Sign

8. Matthijs De Ligt (Ajax - CB)

If a little more first-team experience at a higher level is what you're after, then Ajax prodigy Matthijs de Ligt is well-worth a punt. He's two years younger than Sander Berge and has already played in European competitions; de Ligt was part of the Ajax team who lost the 2017 Europa League Final to Man Utd.

Does that matter in FIFA's world? Absolutely. In last year's game, de Ligt began with a base rating of 76, and his defending (75) and physical (79) stats were unreal for an 18-year old.

Those are ripe for development. Whilst you're plunging the Dutch giants for young talent, why not take a look at other, more established graduates from the Ajax academy who didn't make this list like Justin Kluivert and 21-year old midfield maestro Donny van de Beek too?

Anyone hunting a stalwart CB who will be a star for years to come, however, should start negotiating with the Eredivisie side for de Ligt's services first.
