FIFA 20: 10 Legends Who Need To Be Added To Ultimate Team
5. Ferenc Puskás
How much better do international records get than 84 goals in 85 appearances? That, you see, is the international record held by the legendary Ferenc Puskás.
Granted, the debate over the pros and cons of the football of the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s in comparison to the modern game can be discussed until the proverbial cows come home, but that record is still ridiculously impressive. And that’s before you even begin to look at Puskás’ tally of 514 goals in 530 games at club level.
People these days regularly point at the ludicrous goalscoring exploits of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but Ronaldo and Messi’s stats look almost amateur if we’re purely going on cold, hard numbers.
Hungary and Real Madrid icon Ferenc Puskás may be somebody who you associate with the black and white days when football was 22 oafs hoofing a sopping-wet hunk of weighty leather around a pitch – and to be fair, this skillful forward did retire in 1966 – but it seems a crying shame that this genuine megastar has yet to grace Ultimate Team.
