FIFA 20 Career Mode: 10 Ways EA Can REALLY Fix It

9. Tangible Rewards For Fulfilling Objectives

'Board Expectations' have become 'Bored Expectations'. No, that's not particularly clever wordplay, and no, this writer isn't proud of it. Weirdly, he's barely proud of anything he's ever achieved in FIFA's world either when it comes to fulfilling objectives in Career Mode.

They're ultimately pointless.

There's no punishment for failing to check off important youth-team based goals for smaller clubs if you finish mid-table, and there's hardly any consequence at all for botching "critical" objectives either. They exist solely to give the illusion of risk, and they fail mightily once players figure out how unthreatening they are.

Tangible rewards are needed. Perhaps the board could tell managers-to-be that they'd bag a hefty transfer kitty bonus for Champions League qualification, or maybe some sort of financial penalty could be imposed for relegation. This aspect of the game needs something more.
