FIFA 21: 10 Players Who Will Be Totally Overrated

5. Jordi Alba

Barcelona have gone through a sizeable transition faze since Josep Bartomeu became president of the club. Instead of relying on an academy that produced the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, they instead would rather waste hundreds of millions every year.

One of their smarter purchases saw promising young full back Junior Firpo join the Catalan giants for £16,000,000 at the start of the 2019/20 season, and this seems to have coincided with Alba's downfall.

Despite small injury lay-offs interrupting his season, Jordi Alba’s stats have been very poor generally.

When compared to the 15 highest rated full backs on FIFA to have made at least 15 appearances in their respective leagues, Alba has put in the fewest tackles (and won the 2nd fewest), entered the fewest duels, put in the fewest clearances, put in the joint fewest blocks, got the 2nd fewest assists with only 1, attempted the 4th fewest crosses with the 3rd lowest accuracy, and attempted the 2nd fewest dribbles.

Combined with a very high amount of passes and impressive pass accuracy, this all indicates an attacking full back that is losing their legs.

Overall, he is not deserving of the 86 rating he looks set to receive.
