FIFA 21: 10 Players Who Will Be Totally Overrated
4. Kostas Manolas
For years Manolas has been a must-use on FIFA due to his high pace and physical stats. He has bossed even the quickest of attackers, and while his pace looks set to stay, his defending and rating should be in line to take a hit.
The Greek battler has not adjusted to life in Naples following his move from Roma at the beginning of the 2019/20 season for the relatively low fee of £32,000,000. A defence of Kostas Manolas and Kalidou Koulibaly looked set to tear the Serie A apart.
This has not been the case.
Kostas Manolas has seemingly been unable to adapt to a new tactical role, where he has been asked to carry the ball and play it out from the back far more than he had at Roma.
When compared to 7 other centre backs of a similar rating to his H2H of 84, Manolas ranks bottom for tackles per 90, duels, clearances, interceptions and successful dribbles.
Whilst also having the highest pass accuracy, it seems that Manolas is a bit too focused on the ball playing part of his job as a defender.
Napoli have certainly struggled this season, finding themselves in 6th and 24 points off the top, and the Greek’s woes have contributed to this.
