FIFA 22 Review: 7 Ups & 5 Downs

Ups...

7. The Elaborate Tutorial

EA Sports

Onto the good stuff.

Some will turn their noses up right away at FIFA 22's celeb-infused, TV ad style tutorial. It's undeniably dramatic though, and does do a decent job of introducing new gameplay mechanics without overstaying its welcome. This, then, should be considered a win for EA.

It's certainly worth playing through once to see cameos from David Beckham, Thierry Henry and more. EA even managed to sneak Lewis Hamilton and Anthony Joshua in there, which is random but not really something to whine about. Maybe some of the budget for that could've gone on Career Mode mind!

The corny tutorial is a welcome change of pace from those dull-as-dishwater skill games that have been rattling around for years too. Remember they popped up pre-match every damn time? What a load of sh*te that was.

This is a slightly better way to get to grips.
