FIFA 22 Review: 7 Ups & 5 Downs

1. Finesse Shots Are DefinitelyOverpowered

This too.

Incredibly, there's even less balance with finesse shots than there is with heading right now. Ronaldo scoring those insane loopers from the edge of the box is one thing, but bog standard CAMs playing for Aberdeen should not be curling in belters from quite ridiculous distances just because the AI remembered to hold R1/RB.

It's all very FIFA '99, to be honest, and the absurd visual of borderline part-timers cracking off 40-yard stunner after 40-yard stunner won't suit everybody. EA might want to take a look at finesse shots when they're toning down the strength of headers, because they feel like some sort of cheat code at the moment.

Hold that shoulder button down with the right player and you'll be beating keepers from miles outside the box time and time again. What was that point earlier about making a mockery of the admittedly-improved goalkeeping? Yeah, this is an echo of that.
