1. An Explorable World Map
Tying in closely to the notion of side quests and minigames, the series hasn't featured a World Map, allowing players to explore the game world and discover new locations, monsters and quests at their leisure, since Final Fantasy IX. From Final Fantasy X onwards, progression through the worlds of the series has been predominantly linear, a development that has met the disapproval of many, particularly as other contemporary RPG's, such as Skyrim, allow for vast exploration of the world not immediately connected to the game's main storyline. To appeal to long-time fans, as well as the wide demographic that the likes of Skyrim and Fallout have appealed to, it would be a wise move by Square Enix to bring back a world map of sorts in Final Fantasy XV, as whilst technical limitations may make airship exploration of a fully rendered environment impossible, an approach that once again allows players to make their own way through the games, rather than forcing them all down the same paths, would create a unique and enjoyable experience for players who deserve to be rewarded for their curiosity.
