1. The Relief

Maybe this shouldn't be a Up all of its own. Maybe this isn't, if I'm totally honest, an objective comment made in the best interests of video game journalism.

Maybe this is just me.

But still, it's the number one positive I want to make in this article. The overwhelming feeling I had having after playing the game for 4 hours wasn't joy, or excitement, or anticipation, or anything like that... it was relief. Pure, unrestrained, weight-off-the-shoulders, where-is-my-pint, oh-thank-god-they've-actually-pulled-this-off, relief.

There was every chance - and the overwhelming weight of recent history - that this could have been a misguided project with a reach way, way in excess of its own grasp. This is a game that could never have been made today, being awkwardly ported to a powerful console, and with the potentially awkward RPG tropes of today forcibly inserted in places they likely weren't needed.

And yet, after getting a few hours of hands-on play with it, I'm so relieved to say... they've nailed it.

They've actually nailed it.

Bring on April 10th.
