Final Fantasy XV: 9 Big Changes You Need To Know About

7. The Camping Experience

Although we don't know a lot about FFXV's storyline yet, we do know that a lot of time will be spent wandering the wilds of the world. As part of their ecosystem the developers have inserted a dynamic day/night cycle into the game with changes present in the world at different time periods. The idea behind this is that you'll explore during the day, slaying monsters and exploring dungeons and at night you can pitch a tent and use the experience gained during the day to bolster your attributes. This differs from most other Final Fantasy games, particularly as most give you levels instantly and allow you to distribute them as you see fit. It should add an interesting dynamic to proceedings, particularly as you can also cook food when camping which will give you temporary stat boosts when the next day rolls around. Better yet: the old, legendary Final Fantasy Victory Fanfare tune plays when you level up at your camp! There's more than likely to be a reward of some kind for gambling with your experience on night time jaunts; do you camp up and get your levels, or risk the dangerous monsters of the night and gain potentially better rewards?
