Football Manager 2014: 13 Ludicrous Ratings SI Need To Fix

2. Fabio Borini

Fabio Borini's Liverpool signings was a mistake. It was the wrong time, the wrong deal and the wrong player, and Liverpool learned a quick and damaging lesson when first choice striker Luis Suarez was injured last season. But in FM13, probably thanks to the scouts' limited knowledge of the player (they tend to be linked to the club after all) after his move to the club, Borini's stats were massively over-powered. He is over-valued and over-powered, and he scores far too many goals for a player who has so far shown himself to be somewhat goal-shy, even in his most prolific periods. The most ridiculous thing about the rating is that he actually justifiably keeps Luis Suarez out of the first team. What Are The Chances? Borini missed the majority of last season with a fairly serious injury, before coming back with a bit of a bang with a good goal in Liverpool's mauling of Newcastle United at St. James' Park, so it's difficult to tell if the SI scouts will react properly. Last season, the overrating was apparently based on fact, and it would seem unfair that the same scouts would take away that over-powerment after a year of effectively not playing. Borini has so far done very little this season in Sunderland's colours, but he seems to be at the same level he was at before joining Liverpool, so if the scouts go back and revisit their notes, there's a chance they might actually get the ratings right second time out.
