Football Manager 2014: 13 Ludicrous Ratings SI Need To Fix

6. Basically All Of Schalke

Draxler Clearly, noone has informed SI Games that Schalke haven't been particularly dominant in German or European football lately: despite some very good players, like Huntelaar, Draxler and the hugely saleable Jefferson Farfan, they have hardly been close to breaking the strangle-hold of Dortmund and Bayern. And while there would certainly be some romance in the team achieving it, it's hard to ignore the feeling that SI Games have manipulated ratings in order to make it a possibility. In short, Schalke are way too good at the outset of FM13, and it is way too easy to take them into a genuine title challenge with minimal investment, thanks to a youth system that seems to spit out incredible wonderkids every couple of years. In the centre of defence, they have three of the highest rated centre-halves in the game, and they never seem to have bad games. In fact, more than half of the first team squad are more than likely to earn a performance average of between 7.2 and 7.8, which is unthinkable for a team not winning the league easily. What Are The Chances? Who knows? There must come a point somewhere when SI realise that Schalke haven't won the Champions League at a canter for the past few years, despite their vastly over-powered ratings in the game, but on past experience, that might not be as soon as we'd like.
