Football Manager 2014 Handheld: 12 Essential Signings You Must Make

10. Aaron Hunt

Aaron HuntClub: Werder Bremen Price: £0 (After one season) Hunt's stats are incredibly impressive, especially as his contract will begin to run down at the German side as you hit the first January transfer window. The lack of transfer fee necessarily means you will likely be forced to spend a good amount on wages to convince him to sign, but he won't stretch your budget beyond around £65k a week, which is fair for his rating. He will play at above the 7.00 rating cut-off, which makes him an essential first teamer, and his versatility, which means he can play in any of the nine positions in advance of the halfway line (with AMC his natural spot) is an asset for anyone looking for players to plug multiple spots. His best position by far is behind a central striker, as he tends to link up best with a pacey attacker who runs from deep and will benefit from his creative and powerful approach play, and he will also chip in with a good number of goals, which makes his lack of transfer fee seem like even more of a steal.
