Football Manager 2014 Handheld: 12 Essential Signings You Must Make

8. Andriy Yarmolenko

YarmolenkoClub: Dynamo Kyiv Price: £8.25m The 23 year old Ukrainian who is already a major part of his international set-up is a very good addition to the attacking options of any top half Premier League side, and at just over £8m, he's also a snip, considering his Potential Ability. He is quick, technically strong and a good dribbler, meaning you're likely to see a high assist rate, which is exactly what you need to be looking for in a left attacking midfielder (9 assists in 26 appearances for Manchester United in his first season there.) His stats aren't as immediately incredible as they could be (he's one of Europe's biggest prospects in real life,) but Yarmolenko is one of those players whose performances say a lot more than the broken down stats, and the initial outlay of just over £8m will see his value more than double to almost £20m (particularly if you're Man Utd, whose players become horrifically over-valued after a year, such as Wilfried Zaha, whose value after 18 months sits at a grotesque £53m.) Given more scope to attack from his position into the middle, Yarmolenko can score a good number of goals too, though he is notoriously grumpy if dropped for longer than a few games, and his morale will reflect as much very quickly.
