9. Scout The World (And Not Just Scotland)

If you don't set your scouts away to trawl key markets, they will inevitably just look endlessly at Scotland and tell you that Scott Brown is literally the best signing in the world. It's been that way for at least three iterations of the game, and Brown must be getting a big head by now. So spend some time at the start of the time telling your scouts to look at France, Holland, Brazil and Argentina - or in other words, any leagues where the infrastructure is impressive, the training culture established and the prices comparatively low (particularly if you're a Premier League club). They are where the most value is, and where the most undiscovered talent is (provided they come with no work permit issues). It obviously helps if you set your game up with a larger database; so make sure you pick multiple leagues, without compromising the game's performance (3 stars and above is fine).
