I know what you're thinking, this seems like a lazy option. Joao Moutinho has been around for years, everyone knows about him, he's past-it, he's expensive. WRONG. Moutinho is in his prime. If you're a club with money and all you want to do is win everything in your first season, Moutinho is the go-to guy. There's always a risk attached to young players, but with Moutinho you'd receive a 100% world class footballer for the price of £28.5m, his release clause. That seems steep, but if you have the money, why wouldn't you do it? He's an incredible midfielder who still has years left in him. You may not be a fan of the idea and can't understand why anybody would splash big money when cheaper, younger options are available. But if you're in the market for instant success and guaranteed quality, Moutinho is absolutely the perfect choice.
