Ricky Alvarez has everything a mid-table side could ask for, and he's available on a free until the update drops him into Sampdoria's squad. The 27-year-old former Inter star moved to Sunderland on loan, with an obligation to sign him if they survived relegation. They did, but Alvarez barely featured due to injury, meaning Sunderland disputed the obligation. It transpired that neither Sunderland nor Inter would budge on their stances and Alvarez was released into the wild. He's talented enough for very good teams. Pounce.
